The season of goodwill has started early at Redditch based family business Oakland International as they recruit staff, effectively doubling their contract packing workforce, for the busy Christmas period ahead.

Contract packing case numbers for the Midlands based operator will peak in the week leading up to Christmas, and in addition to the normal range of contract packed products surging through the company’s warehouses, contract packing employees will handle well over 5,000,000 million packs of fish, party foods and desserts, cheeses and alike destined for retailers up and down the UK and Ireland.

Amongst the festive food this Christmas is a wide selection from Finest Scottish Smoked Salmon, Appetisers and Salmon Crescents to Oriental foods, Tempura Prawns, Dim Sum, various Prawn Selections and Pizzas not forgetting the holiday season “must haves” of delicious cheeses and desserts.

Oakland International MD, Barry Davies, commented: “Oakland International is firmly established as an outsourcing contract packing partner of choice, with organic growth in this specialist sector leading Oakland to double its contract packing workforce to support the seasonal demand, having invested and increased its facilities by 100% for the forthcoming year.”

Working across multi disciplines of the supply chain, Oakland supports all manner of ambient, chilled, frozen food and non-food retail contract packing customers. Forging ahead and building a reputation for growth through sustainability, Oakland adds value and leverage through their expertise, supplying all major UK and Irish retail, wholesale, discount and convenience markets from their UK and Ireland depots.

Serving seasonal and all year contract packing orders, Oakland’s membership of the British Contract Manufacturers and Packers Association (BCMPA) and British Retail Consortium (BRC) accreditation adds additional value to their recognised skill set, with sector business growth set to continue in the coming year.
