Redditch Borough Football Club’s Under 12’s team has secured funding for a new away kit thanks to local children’s charity the Oakland Foundation.

Working with community stakeholders, schools and youth organisations, the charity is extending its support of children and young people’s initiatives throughout Redditch and Bromsgrove based on Health and Nutrition, Education and Sport programmes for children under 16 and their families.

Redditch Borough Football Club U12 team manager, Steve Sankey, commented: “We are very privileged that Oakland Foundation were able to assist with sponsorship of our team. All our players, coaches and parents are very grateful, hopefully our new kits will bring us luck this season.”

Working in partnership with Mettis Social Club, the Club’s ethos is to make the experience of playing football enjoyable for all children from the youngest players in the U7’s team through to their U16 players, so that they not only have fun but build lifelong memories and friendships.

Oakland Foundation Trustee, Luke Attwell, commented: “Football is a wonderful fun sport open to all.

“As a local charity we work with diverse groups and organisations supporting young people, and it’s through clubs such as Redditch Borough Football Club that children from all backgrounds can feel included and inspired.”

Seeking new match-funding partnerships and opportunities with the council, local businesses and community groups, the Oakland Foundation was created six-years ago by Redditch-based family business, multi temperature supply chain and food distribution specialist Oakland International.
